Data Controller
The data controller responsible for your personal information is:
FreezyBeats — a trading name of a sole trader based in the United Kingdom
Email: support@freezybeats.com
Website: freezybeats.com
Our full data-controller details, including legal name and contact address, are available free of charge on request at the email above.
For any questions about how your data is handled, contact us at the email above.
Data We Collect and Why
- Account data — your email address and sign-in credentials. An account is required to buy, so your purchases stay linked to you. Managed by Clerk (see below). Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Purchase data — name, email, and billing details, collected and processed by Polar (Polar Software Inc.) as merchant of record and independent data controller for the sale. We never receive or store your card details. Legal basis: performance of a contract.
- Newsletter subscription — your email address, only if you opt in, used to send product updates and release news. Stored by Netlify. Legal basis: your consent (withdraw anytime).
- Product reviews — if you choose to write a review, the display name you enter, your star rating, and your review text are published publicly on the product page. These are stored by Supabase (see below). Legal basis: your consent.
- Direct communications — anything you send us by email (name, message content), kept only to answer your query. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
- Technical data — our hosting provider records standard access logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability. We run no analytics or tracking. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use only strictly-necessary cookies: a sign-in cookie set by Clerk to keep you logged in, and cookies set by Polar during checkout to process your payment. We use no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies — so there is no consent banner to click. Your shopping cart is stored in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie.
Third Parties and Data Transfers
Your data is shared only with the providers we need to run the service, each for the purpose shown. Several are based in the USA and rely on Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers:
- Clerk (Clerk, Inc., USA) — account sign-in and authentication; stores your email and a hashed (unreadable) password.
- Polar (Polar Software Inc., USA) — payment processing, receipts, and delivery of your download and licence key, as merchant of record.
- Netlify (Netlify, Inc., USA) — website hosting and storage of newsletter sign-ups.
- Supabase (Supabase, Inc., USA) — stores the product reviews you choose to publish (display name, rating, and review text).
- Google Fonts (Google LLC, USA) — serves the site's fonts; receives your IP address when a page loads.
We never sell your personal data, and we never share it for third-party marketing.
Data Retention
- Account data — for as long as your account exists; you can delete it at any time.
- Purchase records — for the period required by tax and accounting law where we operate.
- Newsletter email — until you unsubscribe.
- Product reviews — until you ask us to remove them, or you delete your account.
- Email communications — up to 3 years after your query is resolved.
Your Rights & Managing Your Data
Most of your data is in your own hands, no request needed: view and update your account details, or delete your account, anytime from your account page; see your orders in Polar's customer portal; and unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in any email.
If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to, or port your personal data, and to withdraw consent. For anything you can't do yourself, email support@freezybeats.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO, ico.org.uk).
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data. The site is served over encrypted HTTPS, payment details are handled entirely by Polar, and your password is stored only in hashed form by Clerk — we never see it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. For significant changes, newsletter subscribers will be notified. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
